Sooner than I care to realize, Rhi and I will be inside our little Nissan Versa, driving 3,186 miles across the country to get to our new home on the West Coast. We're going to try and stop at all the regular places, but we could use some suggestions on things to see on our way.
So far, we're going from Philadelphia to Columbus, OH to Chicago, IL to Lincoln, NE (just a place to stop) to Denver, CO to Santa Fe, NM to Williams, AZ to Los Angeles, CA. So, uh, anyone got any ideas what we should do while we're on our way out? Our basic advice on how a married couple can not kill each other while spending 50+ hours in a car together? I wouldn't count on Nebraska being "just a place to stop" ;-> You may find the wide open spaces entrancing and the small-town-USA feeling quite endearing. On the other hand, it is true that there may not be a lot to "see-and-do"...although Lincoln is the state capital and has an awesome capital building http://www.starcitymall.com/webcam/statecapitol.html
...just enjoy being in another world for a day or so before hitting the wild wild West :->
