Sometimes, if we're lucky...

...ducks come and hang out at our pool.

Maureen comes for a stay...

Maureen, one of Rhianwen's oldest friends, came to stay at R & B Inc. recently.

"Was there something special?" you are all asking aloud, right now. "Some sort of twist?"

Oh there was a twist, dear readers:

Just the day before she arrived, Maureen had gotten engaged to a fine fellow named Chandler! This here is the cake and champagne that we used to congratulate her. Seeing as how Maureen has a wedding to plan and Rhianwen loves planning things, you can imagine that there was all kinds of wedding talk happening, all the time, everywhere. At the beach, for instance:
And even more wedding planning at the wedding dress store, oddly enough:
Oh, and Maureen was there when Rhi saw Katie Holmes (along with Lindsay Newton!). Here's the gang, shortly after spotting Holmes on the Warner Bros. lot:
Oh, the excitement! And look at Maureen purposefully covering her mouth with her LEFT hand, so as to show off that rock. Sorry gentlemen, she's taken!

Anyways, we miss you Maureen! We know you have a wedding to plan and all, but feel free to come back and stay with us whenever you want!

GLEN ROCK CAR WASH!

If you know us, then you've probably heard us talk about Curb Your Enthusiasm, one of our favorite shows of all time. And if you heard us talk about Curb, you may have also heard us talk about one classic scene where Larry and Cheryl's car gets stuck inside a car wash at a very inopportune moment. (We won't spoil it here.)

Well, Rhianwen was on a mission recently with our friend Roxanne when they stumbled upon this place:

That's right folks, that's the Glen-Rock Car Wash, the very place where they filmed the infamous scene! Are you excited as us?

No?

You guys ruin everything.

UPDATE: You know why this week was the best week ever? BECAUSE CURB WAS FILMING ACROSS THE STREET FROM OUR APARTMENT!!! That's right, they had trailers parked along our block and everything. And guess what: Benner was walking home from work one day, passed by Larry David's trailer and HEARD HIM YELLING. He also saw him filming a scene, but was like a hundred feet away. So cool!

Happy Easter! Here are two new celebrity sightings to celebrate.

Happy Easter, dear readers. Today is the most central part of the Christian faith, the day that celebrates the resurrection of Jesus. Without the resurrection, our faith is meaningless. If the resurrection were a fabrication, than we would be giving our life over to lies and falsehoods, a church in monument to nothing.

But the resurrection is true! Jesus was crucified, and he did in fact rise from the tomb! And so we may join in eternal life with Him! Alleluia! Today we celebrated by getting dressed up all fancy like for church (it's usually a very casual affair), because it's Easter and we thought we should show respect. Church was packed! We had never seen so many people there, and even though our usual preferred seats were filled by strangers, we welcomed them all the same. If you were ever to be interested in hearing the sermon we heard today (and trust us, you should be interested) then head over to churchinhollywood.com and there should be a link somewhere to podcasts of sermons.

Moving on from the profound to the completely innocuous, we have two new celebrity sightings to share with you all.

File this one under "Benner Doesn't Care": Katie Holmes!

Rhi saw her get out of an SUV on the WB lot and head into a building. Rhi is very, very excited about this, even though I suspect she can't name anything she's been in since Dawson's Creek. No, I think she is just excited because of the infamy that has become associated with her name.

"But she nearly ruined Batman Begins," I protested upon seeing Rhi's excitement. She did not care. Women never care about Batman.

And now, file this one under "Benner Really, Really, Really Cares": Oscar Nunez!

That's right, Oscar from The Office! We saw him PARKED BEHIND OUR APARTMENT BUILDING. You see his girlfriend lives in the building behind ours, and he was just sitting in his Prius reading a book, waiting for her. Me being bashful, I stood back and was just giggling to myself. (I have gone on record many times as saying that Oscar is one of the best and most understated assets on The Office, and he is generally hilarious in everything else he has ever done.)

Rhianwen, however, just strolled right up and said, "Hi, I'm interrupting your reading." She struck up a conversation, they chatted for a minute, and I sat there nervously waiting for it to be over. That's why I love Rhianwen.

Anyways, WE SAW OSCAR! AND HE HANGS OUT BEHIND OUR BUILDING ALL THE TIME!!!

My 20 cent shopping spree at Banana Republic!

Oh Banana Republic, how I love thee....

So a couple weeks ago I bought something at Banana Republic. At the end of the transaction, they gave me a little blue ticket. It told me to come back during a particular week in April with my Wonka-esque ticket and have it scanned. It could be worth one of three denominations of money.

So....

I went in yesterday and got my blue ticket scanned. $25! So I browsed around and found two items. A succesful try on session proved that I would in fact purchase the embellished tank and tee, each on sale totaling 32.98 plus tax..

But wait!! I have a Banana Luxe card entitling me to 10% off every purchase. Even if I have a coupon and even if I'm getting sale items. Victory! So they swiped my card and: REWARDS!

My grand total was 20 cents. How about that!?
