Katsuya!

We here at Rhi & Benner, Inc. love food. All kinds of food, really, but particularly sushi. We're lucky because if there's one food that LA does better than anyone else, it's Mexican. But also LA is really good at sushi, especially a restaurant called Katsuya! There are actually several locations, but the one in Glendale has outdoor seating that overlooks a fountain, so we like it.

Their specialty is a fried sticky rice with spicy tuna on top. Unfortunately, we didn't get many closeup shots of the food, but look! There it is in its natural habitat!

Shortly after this photo was taken, this piece of sushi was eaten. RIP sushi. RIP in my belly.

A little bit of MINI back in our life

You guys might remember that, many moons ago, the Benners drove a MINI Cooper. We got rid of it for several reasons, one being that we convinced ourselves it wasn't practical. We said to ourselves, "Selves, we should get a Nissan Versa. They have oodles of practicality!"

Well, we've been missing the MINI pretty much since the day we got rid of it--and kind of not loving the Versa for a while, too--so when we saw a deal advertised on TV that would give us a MINI for less than what we're paying for the Versa, we pounced on it.

Here's Rhianwen with her two new best friends, the guys that sold her the car. We've got a MINI again, baby!

Skype and children: A dangerously adorable combination

One of our favorite things to do is Skype with friends, especially friends with kids. That way we get to see them grow up from a far, even if it's on a screen from 3,000 miles away. But another reason why it's fun to Skype with kids is that it's hilarious to watch the parents try to wrangle them after being placed in front of a shiny screen with people they know talking directly to them. Like the Lozanos, for instance.

See? Three kids and Skype. It's almost too much for even Rachel to handle. Similarly, Phil got overtaken by children too.

As for the Heins, they only have Abigail to worry about.

But shortly after this photo was taken, we got disconnected from the Heins because Abigail got a little too handsy with the computer. Skype and kids may be a tough combination for parents, but at least it's wildly entertaining on our end.

Bennerween! (Halloween)

Hey guys, remember Halloween? That was a million (2) months ago! We went as Ricky and Lucy Ricardo!

Iconic, right? Great costume? Maybe the best costume. But here's my imitation of everyone at the party we went to: "Mad Men, right?"

Seriously? Mad Men? Didn't anyone grow up watching reruns of I Love Lucy?!

Anyways, here's our friend Matt Maxwell dressed as Carl Frederickson from Up.

His costume really is the best. Happy Halloween New Year, everyone!
