Joey Sold Some Paintings

Friday night, we went to my friend Joe's opening at an art gallery. Joe is such a big shot artist guy, he gets his name on windows and everything.

Joe thinks he's better than all of us.

This is the gallery itself.

Here is Phil and Rachel. We showed up at their doorstep one night, cold and wet and hungry and mostly sad. They graciously took us in and have been our adoptive parents ever since. Quite the dapper couple, wouldn't you say? Phil is also Joe's brother, which would make Rachel Joe's sister-in-law. We're not related to them in any way, and yet we live with them. Weird, huh?

As if we haven't talked about Lozano's enough, here's two more. Johnny is the one in the foreground, strangling an imaginary man, while his brother MAHCULL (Michael) looks on in relative shame. They're Joe's cousins.

This is Joe and I shortly after someone asked what we thought of the movie "Dunston Checks In." We loved it, obviously. Try not to notice the things written on the wall behind us.

Here's Rhi and I after we had consumed the best Mexican food ever at El Fuego. That's Rhi's "ME LIKE BURRITTO" face.

And that was most of our Friday night.

Somehow we managed to miss Joe's opening (phooey!) but this blog does a nice job of compensating for this dreadful omission -- at least, at this end. Thanks, Mike--and congrats, Joe! Miriam & Chris
